Year 3
In Year 3, taught by Mrs Muckle, we take an exciting journey through history. During the autumn term, we explore life in the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age. As the year progresses, we delve into the fascinating worlds of the Romans and Vikings. Our history curriculum also inspires much of our reading, writing, and design and technology work, helping us make meaningful connections across subjects.
Science in Class 3 is all about discovery and hands-on learning. We investigate topics such as rocks and fossils, light, forces, and plants. Pupils enjoy sorting and classifying real rock and fossil samples, and our local fieldwork gives us the chance to explore geology in our own environment.
Reading is an important part of our class culture. We love sharing books together, and our class reading book is always a highlight of the day.
Physical Education is varied and fun, with activities ranging from yoga to cricket. Every other year, pupils have the opportunity to go swimming at Ashby swimming pool, building water confidence and swimming skills in a supportive environment.
